We’re hosting an event called “Welcome to Alumnihood” on September 20 in the West Village, and we’d love for you to join us. This isn’t just another alumni gathering — it’s an opportunity to share your experiences, offer guidance, and help the newest grads find their footing in the city.
Why Your Presence Matters:
We’ve all been there — starting a new job, beginning grad school, or just figuring out how to navigate this incredible city. Whether you’re brand new to New York or a (near-)lifelong local, your insights, your stories, and even your favorite hidden spots in the city can make a difference to someone just beginning their journey. It’s a chance to pay forward the support you received when you were in their shoes.
How You Can Contribute:
Offer Advice: Whether it’s career tips, NYC living hacks, or just some words of encouragement, your perspective is invaluable to those who are just getting started.
Celebrate Together: Let’s show the Class of 2024 what it means to be part of the Swarthmore alumni family — one that thrives on connection, support, and shared experiences.
Cost:
Cellar Dog charges a $10 cover after 6 p.m. on Fridays. If you'd like to play games (including billiards and table tennis), the cost is $9/hour. If you'd rather play a board game, those are available for $2/person for the whole night.
A full bar is also on-site, serving beer, wine, and other drinks..
Games, food, and drinks will be pay-as-you-go.
